Ms. Nin,

My life, my perspective, my vision all changed; my desires brought out and made visible to me - by only a few of your words. I am forever thankful for the experiences you have given to this world.

"MIDNIGHT. AFTER AN OPERA. ALL EVENING, WHILE I HEARD THE MUSIC, I had dreams about myself, dreams of beauty, of intellectual achievements, of grace, expression in dancing, of passionate, desperate living. I felt myself burning
with delerious fever; I saw myself at home, at teas, on the stage, in various countries, writing, dancing, moving, changing, changing. I was everywhere, I was everything, everybody. MY LIFE HAD NO LIMITS, NO BOUNDARIES, NO END. The more I dreamed, the deeper grew my fever, until I suddenly realized I was dazzling myself with myself."

I was unaware of the works and words of Anais untill recently. I ordered a copy of a few of her books. After reading "In Favor of the Sensitive Man" I am inspired to read on. I am indeed grateful. Billy

Anais books I started reading while still attending boarding school in Chile. Her poetic form of writing inspired my love of keeping my journals.
After many years I still feel her spirit very much alive, her vivacious character, her curiosity.
She was unique and we must share her legacy with new readers...

I first read Nin's journals while in graduate school. As a writer, poet and journaling advocate, so many of her words have inspired my own. Nin's birthday was in 1903, the same year as my beloved grandmother. I had a chance to revisit some of Nin's history while working on my memoir, "Regina's Closet: Finding My Grandmother's Secret Journal." (2007)

Earlier this year I had the pleasure of attending Nin at 105 and had a chance to meet some of her friends. It was wonderful hearing them speak of her with such adoration and respect. Steve Reigns did a spectacular job organizing the event!
